BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Alabama State's Corey King and Southern's
Joseph Battaglia for SWAC Baseball Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of play.
Hitter of the Week
King finished the week hitting .450 in five games including five extra base hits. He concluded the weekend with a two home run outing against Mississippi Valley State, including five RBI. King finished the week 9-for-20 at the plate with eight runs scored and nine RBI.
Pitcher of the Week
Battaglia pitched his third complete game of the season as he threw 112 pitches with seven strike outs against Prairie View A&M this past weekend. He allowed only two runs off five hits against the Panthers and he currently boast a 7-4 record for the Jaguars.
