JAI Area Descriptions

The Jaguar Athletics Internship Program (JAI) builds a community of exemplary undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students across Louisiana by exposing them to real experiences within the athletic world. Our goal is to cultivate the ability to lead in the respective discipline and into the next stage of life. Although this is an unpaid internship, fellows are given substantial development, advancement, and social opportunities.

Marketing & Development Athletic Assistants -
In this area, interns will provide administrative support to ensure efficient day-to-day operations while creating, developing, and planning programs and/or events to assist with the experience within the Department of Athletics. Interns must be organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in office management tasks. It is recommended, but not required that you have experience with Microsoft Office, Canva, Huddle, and all social media platforms.

 
Student-Athlete Academic Services - 
In this area, interns assist with assuring that the student-athlete stays on track academically to remain eligible to play sports and ultimately graduate. Interns must be proficient in Excel, be able to work independently, and have some experience in organizational program planning.
 
Ticketing & Sales - 
In this area, interns provide day-to-day contact, interaction, and problem resolution to ticket-buying customers, and provides functional oversight and coordination to Ticket Sales Supervisors.
 
Sports Information Department - 
  • Graphics | Portfolio Required
  • Photography | Portfolio Required
  • Videography | Portfolio Required
In this area, interns will assist with photography, videography, and content creation for all sports within Department of Athletics. Interns MUST have their own equipment and it is recommended, but not required that you are skilled in photo editing, archiving, and Adobe suite or comparable editing software platforms.

Game Day Operations -
In this area, interns plays a vital role in maintaining and managing the tools and resources essential for the smooth operation of the sports program. They will also have responsibilities in planning, setting up for, and managing all game day events within Athletics.

Recruitment -
In this area, interns are responsible for showing talented individuals our campus and facilities so they can join our sports programs. Interns must have strong communication skills, networking abilities, and a passion for talent acquisition. Interns MUST attend the summer training for the Fall 2025.

 
Compliance | Law Students ONLY -
In this area, interns will ensure that operations within Academics follow all relevant legal and internal rules. Interns are recommended to have ANY previous experience dealing compliance prior to applying.
