Lyons and Saddler Named Second Team All Conference

BATON ROUGE, LA— The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its 2021-22 All-SWAC Men's Basketball teams and individual award winners on Tuesday morning. The all-conference honors were voted on by the league's coaches and sports information directors.  
 
Jayden Saddler and Tyrone Lyons were named second team all-conference for their play this season.
 
Lyons was the Jaguars leading scorer averaging 13.7 points per game, which also ranked him tenth in the conference. Lyons is also ranked 19th in the conference with 4.9 rebounds per game. He was also a menace on the defensive end of the court averaging 1.7 steals per game along with averaging just under one blocked shot per game. Against Grambling on January 15th, he tied his season high in scoring with 25 shooting 8-of-9 from the floor and a perfect 4-of-4 from behind the three.
 
Saddler, the team's emotional leader averaged 11.2 points per game which ranks him 18th in the conference in scoring. He ranks second in assists in the SWAC averaging 4.1 assists per game and he also ranks third in steals averaging 2.2 steals per game. Against MVSU on January 24th he 21 points on 10-of-12 shooting with seven assists and four rebounds. Jayden was also named to the All-SWAC Preseason team.
