Micheal Jacobs Named Second Team All-SWAC

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Guard Micheal Jacobs was named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Basketball Second Team, the conference announced on Friday morning. 

The Atlanta, GA. native averaged 17.6 points, 5.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds in 29 games played. He posted a career-high 30 points vs. Prairie View and added a personal-best 10 rebounds (at Marquette) and 10 assists (at Jackson and vs Alabama A&M) this season. He scored over 20 points 14 times this season and finished with seven or more assists seven times this season.

Jackson State's Daeshun Ruffin was selected as the SWAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year, while Alabama State Jerquarius Stanback earned Defensive Player of the Year Honors.

Joining Ruffin on All-SWAC first team was Dontae Horne (PVAMU) Jakobi Heady (BCU), Quion Williams (UAPB) and Micheal James (MVSU). 

All-SWAC second team was Kintavious Dozier (Alabama A&M), Micheal Jacobs (Southern), Troy Hupstead (Texas Southern), Daniel Rouzan (Bethune-Cookman) and Tai'Reon Joseph (Prairie View).
