On getting a win before heading into SWAC play.

A huge win for us. I still don't know the gist of our team because we been on the road playing big, stronger guys. I think we have been competing but it was good for me to see our team in a competitive game. It's going to give us a lot to look at so we can be ready for conference play.

 On playing at home for the first time since Nov. 11

Haven't been here in a long time. It's a great feeling to sleep in our own beds and play a home basketball contest and the guys were excited about being here. Naturally, the crowd came out and had a pretty big crowd tonight. I think the guys were very excited and actually I think that helped us win the ballgame in the end.

 On what he learned about his team

That's tough for me to answer because I think we have been outmatched a lot playing some of the high major schools. I'd like to see more games (against like talent) so we can get a real gage. I think we have a little toughness and that's been my concern all year long.

On what changed in the second half

Our defensive intensity. We picked it up. We knew that we had been playing slow on defense. We had to come out and pick it up on defense or we was going to lose the game.

 On finally playing at home

It feels good to be home. The people coming to watch us and see what we've done because they hadn't gotten a chance to watch us play since the first game.

He's a good coach. He's a very good coach. He's hard on us but he's good. Everything is different. We work harder, longer. We take everything more seriously not just being passive. He instills in us to just work hard everyday.
