Jaguars Continue Spring Preparations This Week

Baton Rouge, La. – Southern University baseball will open the second full week of its spring practice on Tuesday at Lee–Hines Stadium.

The Jaguars will hold team practices Tuesday through Thursday, each starting at 3:30 p.m. Southern will then close the week with a series of scrimmages, beginning Friday with a 3:30 p.m. first pitch. Scrimmages are also scheduled for Saturday at 12 p.m. and Sunday at 2:45 p.m.

Complete dates and times for all practices and scrimmages are updated weekly and can be found each Monday on gojagsports.com. All scrimmages are subject to change, with length determined on a game-to-game basis. Regularly scheduled practice sessions will take place between scrimmages.

Admission to all Southern baseball on-field activities is free and open to the public. Gates will open approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of practice or scrimmages. Fans are asked to enter Lee–Hines Stadium through the main gate located directly behind home plate and remain seated in the middle seating area once inside.

The Jaguars open the 2026 season with a three-game series at home against Miami University (Ohio) on Friday at 6 PM, Saturday at 3 PM, and Sunday at 1 PM. All games will be streamed live on Jaguar Sports Network.

  • Monday: OFF – MLK Day

  • Tuesday: Practice – 3:30 p.m.

  • Wednesday: Practice – 3:30 p.m.

  • Thursday: Practice – 3:30 p.m.

  • Friday: Scrimmage – 3:30 p.m. (first pitch)

  • Saturday: Scrimmage – 12:00 p.m. (first pitch)

  • Sunday: Scrimmage – 2:45 p.m. (first pitch)
