Southern Sweeps SWAC Soccer Weekly Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Southern's Tori Thomas, Alyssa Romero and Sydney Bellamy for SWAC Soccer Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of regular season competition.
 
Offensive
Thomas scored one goal this past week for the Southern Jaguars. She was a key contributor for SU offensively and defensively.
 
Defensive
Romero was a key contributor for the Southern Jaguars this past week. She assisted SU in allowing only two goals during this past week of competition.
 
Goalkeeper
Bellamy competed in 180 minutes of action this past week for the Southern Jaguars. She made a total of 6 saves averaging three saves per game for the week.

The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) is considered one of the premier HBCU conferences in the country and currently ranks among the elite in the nation in terms of HBCU alumni playing with professional sports teams.
 
Current championship competition offered by the league includes competition for men in Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field and Tennis.

Women's competition is offered in the sports of Basketball, Bowling, Cross Country, Golf, Indoor Track and Field, Outdoor Track and Field, Soccer, Softball, Tennis and Volleyball.
