Women’s Tennis defeated Prairie View 4-3

Box Score BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Southern University women's tennis team defeated Prairie View Saturday Morning 4-3.

RECAP
The Jaguars earned one doubles point in the third game as Jessica Hess and Agyeponmaa (Agye) Mintah got the win (6-0) cutting into the early lead of the Panthers 2-1 in the dual. The Jaguars went on to win four out of six singles matches, claiming the 4-3 victory at their home courts.

In the No. 3, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots, Jessica Hess (6-0, 6-7, 6-2), Shahd Habib (6-3, 6-3), Baluck Deang (6-1, 6-3) and LaTesha Grant (6-2, 6-1) defeated their opponents, recording the wins for the Jags.

Competing in the top-singles spot, Paris Washington fell (4-6, 1-6) and No. 2 singles Kai Wince fell (5-7, 6-7).

UP NEXT
The Jaguars will be back in action at the 2024 SWAC Women's Tennis Championship starting Friday April 19 in New Orleans, LA.
