Jaguars Take Home 45 Medals, 17 Gold, from Pelican Relays

BATON ROUGE, La – Southern University men's and women's track and field teams returned back home for the Pelican Relays inside A.W. Mumford Stadium.

The Jaguars recorded 45 top-10 finishes and 17 first place finishes.

28 different athletes had personal best in their respective events. Southern had 13 season best performances.

WOMEN'S TRACK EVENTS

Tashina Alase finished 1^st in the women's 100m Hurdles with a time of 13.73, finished 5^th in the women's 100m with a time of 12.39
Sierra Session finished 1^st with a personal best time of 1:00.86 in the women's 400m Hurdles
Camille Lewis finished 1^st in the women's 800m with a time of 2:17.45
Women's 4x400 Meter Relay finished 1^st with a season best time of 3.51.86 (Shani Simon, Camille Lewis, Aisha Johnson, Sierra Session)
Women's 4x100 Meter Relay finished 2^nd with a season best time of 46.82 (Jada Chevalier, Tashina Alase, Shani Simon, Meghan Joshua)
Jada Chevalier finished 3^rd with a time of 14.00 in the women's 100m Hurdles
Aisha Johnson finished 4^th in the women's 100m with a time of 12.38
Shani Simon finished 5^th in the women's 400m and set a season best time of 56.94
Daisa McKissic finished 6^th in the women's 100m hurdles with a time of 14.64

Uzuri Graves finished 1^st overall in the women's javelin throw with a throw of 39.66m
Jae'l Dunn finished 1^st with a personal record throw of 48.91m in the women's hammer throw, she finished 2^nd with a throw of 41.92m in the women's discus and finished 3^rd with a throw of 12.11m in the women's shotput while setting a personal record
A'ja Gore finished 1^st and set a season best throw of 13.95m in the women's shotput, she finished 2^nd and set a personal record with a throw of 48.32m in the women's hammer throw
Azariah Foster finished 1^st in the triple jump, with a jump of 11.97m, she finished 5^th with a jump of 5.53m in the women's long jump
Kinzli Zenon finished 2^nd with a throw of 35.94m in the women's javelin throw
Camille Lewis finished 2^nd and set a personal record with a jump of 1.72m in the women's high jump
Peyton Funderburk finished 1^st with a jump of 5.90m in the women's long jump
Layla Spann-McDonald finished 2^nd with a personal best throw of 46.19m in the women' hammer throw, she finished 6^thand set a personal record with a throw of 34.7m in the women's discus
Lawrenee' Hart finished 2^nd and set a season best throw of 13.10m in the women's shotput, she finished 4^th with a season best throw of 44.75m in the women's hammer throw
SSahnya Lathon finished 2^nd with a jump of 11.83m in the triple jump, 4^th and season best with a jump of 1.62m in the women's high jump
Yahria Bass set a season best jump of 11.06m and finished 4th in the triple jump
Madyson Kent set a personal record and finished 5^th with a jump of 1.57m in the women's high jump
