BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has tabbed Southern's
Lonnie Mulligan along with Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Iyanah Hicks and Taylor Schumacher for SWAC Soccer Weekly Honors for their outstanding performances during this past week of conference play.
Offensive Player of the Week
Mulligan was a vital part of the Lady Jaguars' success over the weekend. She recorded a total of 13 shots, 10 points, eight shots on goal, and five total goals against Mississippi Valley State and Alcorn State. She is currently ranked first in the league in shots (40), game-winning goals (2), and points (16).
Defensive Player of the Week
Hicks played a significant defensive role in the Lady Golden Lions' wins against Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern. She had a key takeaway that led to an assist on a goal against PVAMU. Hicks also had three takeaways that led to three goals in addition to scoring two goals for UAPB. She logged six points, six shots, five shots on goal, two assists, and two goals during this past week of competition.
Goalkeeper of the Week
Schumacher collected a total of 10 saves to help the Lady Golden Lions claim conference wins over the weekend against Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern. She played a total of 90 minutes in both matches while averaging five saves per contest.
