BIRMINGHAM, AL.– The Southwestern Athletic Conference has announced its 2022 SWAC Soccer Tournament seedings and the Southern University Lady Jaguars have earned the third seed.
Southern is having their most success since the 2013 season. They will take on Arkansas-Pine Bluff on the opening day in the nightcap. The Lady Jaguars fell to UAPB back on September 27 but has since found their stride on the pitch.
SWAC Regular Season Champion Jackson State enters the tournament as the #1 seed (7-1-1 SWAC), followed by Grambling State at #2 seed (5-1-3 SWAC). Alabama State is the #4 seed (4-2-3 SWAC), while Texas Southern is the #5 seed (4-3-2 SWAC), with Arkansas-Pine Bluff claiming the #6 seed (4-4-1 SWAC).
Alcorn State (3-3-3 SWAC) and Alabama A&M (2-5-2 SWAC) will enter the tournament as the #7 seed and #8 seed respectively.
The 2022 SWAC Soccer Tournament is slated to be played on Nov. 3-6 at the PVAMU Soccer Complex located on the campus of Prairie View A&M University.
Each tournament match is scheduled to be carried live on the
SWAC Digital Network.
