BATON ROUGE, LA -- The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced on friday the schedules for all 10 league schools for the upcoming 2021 spring soccer season. 

Each SWAC team will play a nine-game conference slate. The season will officially kickoff on February 26 with four league games set to be played on opening day.

The Lady Jaguars will open up the season on the road facing Alcorn State (February 26) and Mississippi Valley State (February 28). Following those matches and a 11-day break , Southern will play their first two home matches of the season beginning with Alabama State (March 12) and Alabama A&M (March 14). 

Southern will then head to West division opponents and defending champion Prairie View A&M (March 19) and Texas Southern (March 21), before getting a five day break between matches. The Lady Jaguars return to the bluff for a three-game homestand to conclude the regular season hosting in state rival Grambling State (March 26), UAPB (March 28) and Jackson State (April 2). 

The season will culminate with the SWAC Women’s Soccer Tournament scheduled to be played April 8-11 at Prairie View A&M University. The winner of the conference tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, with the NCAA Selection Show set for April 18.

The SWAC will remain prepared to make any necessary adjustments identified to be in the best interest of the health, safety and wellness of our student-athletes.
