Las Cruces, N.M. -- Three players scored in double figures but Southern failed to snap its current losing streak as New Mexico State cruised to a 91-66 Monday night in the Pan American Center.
The Jaguars have dropped four straight since a 66-57 win over Macmurray in the Skip Prosser Tournament in New Orleans.
Mike Celestin and Madut Bol led the Jaguars with 12 points each. Cameron Monroe added 11 points while Quinton Doggett led the Jaguars with a team high eight rebounds but shot a frigid 3-for-12 from the field.
New Mexico State's Wendell McKines led all scores with 20.
Southern will break for the Christmas holiday before closing the non-conference portion of the 2011-12 season hosting Loyola (NO) Thursday, Dec. 29 in the F.G. Clark Activity Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Southern opens Southwestern Athletic Conference play on the road Jan. 3 at Prairie View as the Jaguars begin a brutal stretch playing four games in six nights.
