Southern University notched their first win of the 2010 season on Sunday, when the Lady Jaguars dispatched of the Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters in Baton Rouge.
Southern won three of six singles matches in route to a 4-3 win over Louisiana Tech.
SU's Megan Wiltz defeated Cecile Vichery (LATECH) 6-3, 7-6 (7-2); SU's Carlista Mohammed defeated Maartje de Wit (LATECH) 6-1, 6-4 and Jo'Vonn Gaines (SU) defeated Laura Rodriguez (LATECH) 2-6, 6-1, 6-1.
The doubles team of Janelle Mosley/Demetria Woods (SU) defeated Cecile Vichery/Rocio Juarez (LATECH) 8-6; while the team of Carlista Mohammed/Jo'Vonn Gaines (SU) defeated Alena Erofeyeva/Laura Rodriguez (LATECH) 8-3. LaTech's Vivian ten Dolle/Maartje de Wit defeated Megan Wiltz/Kathryn Curtis (SU) 9-8, in the other doubles match. With the two out of three win in doubles, Southern secured the doubles point.
