Southern Completes Season Sweep Over Grambling

BATON ROUGE, La. — Southern closed out the regular-season series in emphatic fashion Saturday afternoon, defeating Grambling State to complete a season sweep inside the F.G. Clark Activity Center.

Southern used a balanced offensive attack and relentless defensive pressure to pull away after halftime, turning a tight contest into a double-digit victory as the Jaguars improved their SWAC positioning and momentum heading into the final stretch of the season.

Southern broke open a close game with a strong third quarter, using defensive pressure and efficient ball movement to pull away. The Jaguars held Grambling to 22 points in the second half and turned 17 forced turnovers into key scoring opportunities.

Southern shot 44% from the field and out-rebounded Grambling 38–31, including nine offensive boards that led to second-chance points. The Jaguars also received a boost from their bench, which outscored Grambling's reserves 18–6.
