BATON ROUGE, La. — Southern University volleyball standouts Jordan Felix and Ariana Brown were named to the Louisiana Sports Writers Association's All-Louisiana Team, the organization announced Thursday.
 
Felix earned First Team honors, while Brown was selected to the Second Team after helping lead the Lady Jaguars to their highest win total since 2002 and a berth in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship match for the first time since 2014.
 
A senior setter, Felix was the lone player at her position named to the First Team following an outstanding final season. She totaled 887 assists, ranking 122nd nationally, while her 7.37 assists per set placed her second in the SWAC.
 
The New Orleans native recorded seven double-doubles on the year, including three matches with 40 or more assists. She posted double-digit assists in 31 of 33 matches and reached 30 or more assists 13 times, highlighted by a career-high 45 against Alabama A&M on Senior Day. Felix concluded her career with 2,103 assists, 885 digs, 616 kills, 147 blocks, and 133 service aces.
 
Brown earned Second Team recognition following a stellar junior campaign after transferring from ULM. The outside hitter ranked first in the SWAC and 39th nationally with 464 kills, while also leading the conference and ranking 23rd in the nation with 51 aces.
 
A Houston native, Brown recorded seven double-doubles and finished second on the team with 240 digs. She produced double-digit kills in 25 matches, including each of the final 11 contests, and logged 11 matches with at least 15 kills, six of which featured 20 or more.
 
An SWAC All-Tournament selection, Brown surpassed the 1,000-kill milestone for her career during the championship match against Florida A&M. She currently owns 1,000 career kills, along with 485 digs, 105 aces, and 77 blocks.
