BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Southern University standouts Ariana Brown and Jordan Felix have been named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference All-Conference Second Team, the league office announced Thursday.
The duo becomes the first Lady Jaguars to earn All-SWAC honors since Jada Carter, Princess Stark, and Delanie Fulton were recognized during the Spring 2021 season.
Brown, a transfer from ULM, has been Southern's most dominant offensive presence all year, pacing the Lady Jaguars with 400 kills and 46 service aces. Her 400 kills are the most in the SWAC and rank 52nd nationally, while her 3.77 kills per set sits second in the conference and 95th in the country. The Houston native also leads the league in total aces and points (459.5), ranking 21st and 43rd nationally in those categories.
She also stands second in the SWAC in aces per set, attacks per set, points per set, and total attacks. Her 0.43 aces per set is 44th in the nation, and she ranks inside the top 100 nationally in both points per set (4.33, 83rd) and total attacks (1,036, 82nd).
Felix, a four-year starter at setter, leads the SWAC with 781 assists and ranks second with 7.27 assists per set. She stands 137th nationally in total assists and surpassed the 2,000 career assists milestone with a 38-assist outing against Grambling on November 10.
The McGehee native has also contributed across the stat sheet with 183 digs, 78 kills, 37 blocks, and 22 aces. She has recorded five double-doubles this season. Felix delivered the best performance of her career on Senior Day, posting a personal-best 45 assists, marking her third 40-assist match of the year and the fifth of her career. She narrowly missed her seventh career triple-double on August 30 against Morgan State, finishing with 23 assists, eight kills, and eight digs.
