BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference announced its 2025-26 Women's Basketball Predicted Order of Finish during the league's media day event on Tuesday morning. The all-conference honors and preseason poll were voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
The Defending SWAC Champions were selected first overall in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Preseason Poll, the conference announced on Tuesday morning at the Embassy Suites Hotel during the league's Media Day.
The Jaguars received 265 points to be selected first in the preseason poll, while Alabama A&M received 224 points for being picked to finish second overall. Following Alabama A&M were Jackson State (213 points), Texas Southern (202 points), and Grambling State (186 points).
Alcorn State (164 points) was sixth, Bethune-Cookman (119 points) was seventh, followed by Florida A&M (111 points), Alabama State (98 points), Prairie View (93 points), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (63 points), and Mississippi Valley State (56 points).
Southern begins the regular season on Nov. 3 when it travels to Iowa City, IA, to take on the University of Iowa. Their home opener will be on (Nov. 18), playing host to Tougaloo College.
