BATON ROUGE, LA – Southern University's baseball team is set to host the University of New Orleans on Tuesday afternoon at Lee-Hines Stadium with the first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.
 
Southern (17-24, 12-9) is coming off a series sweep against Prairie View A&M which saw the Jaguars score 24 runs on 30 hits.
 
UNO (28-20, 9-9) comes into the game after taking two-of-three from Houston Christian University by the scores of 9-7, 7-8, and 10-6.
 
The Privateers hold an 7-3 record in the last 10 meetings between the teams, including a 10-9 victory earlier in the year at Maestri Field in New Orleans.
 
Jaylen Armstrong continues to lead Southern at the plate with a .333 average and a team high eight doubles. Armstrong has four home runs and 32 RBIs. Khyle Radcliffe is second on the team with a .288 average with seven doubles and 18 RBIs. O'Neill Burgos is third with a .280 average with six doubles and team leading 10 home runs and 47 RBIs.
 
Southern has used multiple starters during the midweek portion of their schedule. Daren Smith and Anthony Fidanza have seen the majority of the action on the mound. Smith has struck out 17 and walked 14 in 18 innings of work. Fidanza has 23 strikeouts and 16 walks in 18.2 innings.
 
Tristan Moore leads UNO with a .343 average at the plate. Moore has eight doubles, 16 home runs and 46 RBIs on the season. Mitchell Sanford and Anthony Herron are hitting over .300 on the year. Sanford has a .310 average with eight doubles, seven home runs and 49 RBIs. Herron is hitting .308 with 11 doubles, five home runs and 25 RBIs.
 
The Privateers have used a plethora of pitching during their midweek games. Last time the two teams played, Ryan Delorbe got the start and went 1.1 innings giving up four hits and one run.
