HOW IT HAPPENED
- Southern pick up runs in the first five innings of the game.
- Despite picking up runs in the final three innings the Bleu Devils efforts wasn't good enough to overcome the Jaguars early lead.
- Fidanza pitched two innings seeing 6 batters and giving up no runs and only giving up one hit.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Southern finished the night with eight hits and DU finished the night with twelve hits.
- Southern finished the game with two errors, while Dillard finished the game with only one error.
- Southern left seven runners on base, while DU left ten.
- Southern struck out six times and Dillard struck sixteen times.
- Jonathan Evans picked up the Jags first run of the day off O'Neill Burgos sac-fly to the right field. Jaylen Armstrong led the Jaguars with three runs on the day while, Burgos finished with two runs. Khyle Radcliffe, Nathaniel Lai, Hunter Tabb, Jah'li Hendricks, Caleb Tart and Evans scored one run each.
- Eight different Jaguars batters recorded a hit. Burgos led SU with two hits, while Evans, Hendricks, Tabb, Tart, Gustavo Nava Sanchez and Donnell Sandifer finished the day with one hit each.
UP NEXT
The Jaguars will be back action this weekend for a three game series against Grambling State University inside Lee-Hines Stadium. Friday's game first pitch will be at 6 PM, Saturday's game will be at 3 PM and Sunday's game will be at 1 PM. All three games will be streamed live on Jaguars Sports Network with the voice of Jaguar Athletics "Chris Powers".
