Attended University of Rio Grande and Highland Community College. He has been on the Presidents List four semesters in a row from Fall 2019- Spring 2021, is a Phi Tetta Kappa Honor Society Member, was on the 1^stAcademic Team, 2^nd Team All-Conference and honorable mention (KJCCC).
 
High School
Attended San Vicente de Paul High School in Petaluma, CA. While in high school, he was on the Honors List and graduated with honors.
 
Personal
Gustavo Nava was born on January 28^th, 2000 in Maracaibo, Venezuela and is the son of Junior Nova and Marible Sanchez. He played on the St. Cloud Rox travel team in 2022. A sophomore majoring in criminal justice, Gustava chose Southern because he “wanted to play at a Division 1 level with a winning tradition team and to experience the HBCU culture.” His favorite memory was when he played in the National Tournament and represented his state (Zulia) in 2015-2017.
