HOW IT HAPPENED

• Southern jumped out on the Panthers with a 1-0 lead and close the game out strong to take game one of the double-header.
• PVAMU started out slow at the plate picking up three runs in the fifth inning but it wasn't enough to close out the game falling 5-4 in game one.
• Lasseigne pitched three innings seeing 11 batters and giving up one runs off three hits.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Southern finished the night with ten hits and PVAMU finished the night with seven hits.
• Southern finished the game with only one error, while Prairie View finished the game with no errors.
• Southern left eight runners on base, while PVAMU left nine.
• Southern struck out two times and Prairie View struck eleven times.
• Justin Wiley picked up the Jags first run of the day off Armstrong single to left field. O'Neill Burgos, Gustavo Nava Sanchez, JJ Rollon, Quincy Smith II and Wiley scored one run each for the Jaguars on the day.
• Seven different Jaguars batters recorded a hit Armstrong, Burgos and Khyle Radcliffe led SU with two hits, while Nava Sanchez, Rollon, Smith II and Wiley finished the day with one hit each.

The Jaguars will be back action at 6:30 PM for game two of the double-header against Prairie View.
