Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational set up Busy Weekend for Track and Field

AUSTIN, TX – Southern University is set to participate in two separate meets from March29 - April 1. A select group of Jaguars and Lady Jaguars will start at the Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas. The rest of the team will travel to San Marcos, Texas for the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Texas State University.
 
The Texas Relays will be conducted over four days with the Heptathlon and Decathlon starting things off on Wednesday. Thursday will start the main course with the prelims and finals of the University/College divisions and the Invitational divisions.
 
The Bobcat Invitational will start on Thursday with four field events and the running events starting on Friday.
 
Last time out, Southern finished the Battle on the Bayou with 31 athletes finishing inside the top 10.
 
Nicholas Scott won the 800m with a time of 1:49.93, giving him the 17th win of his career in the event. That time gave Scott the 10thg fastest in the East Region.
 
On top of the 31 top 10 finished, 21 athletes finished with personal best.
 
Clydeterrious Thompson and DeAnthony Nervis currently rank 63rd and 65th, respectively, in the 100m for the East Region. Clydeterrious Thompson has a time of 10.58 and Nervis has a time of 10.6. Trinity Bolden sits 58th on the women's side with a time of 11.76.
 
Nervis finds himself inside the top 15 in the 200. His time of 20.93 at the Battle on the Bayou places him at 14th. Clydeterrious Thompson sits 75th with a time of 21.49.
 
The 110m hurdles has been a strong event for Jordan Thompson this season. Jordan Thompson currently finds himself at 23rd with a time of 14.07. Jordan Thompson also is ranked 95th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 56.00.
 
Camille Lewis sits 63rd in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:02.29.
 
The men's 4x100 team of Derick Washington, Clydeterrious Thompson, Jordan Thompson and Nervis are sitting at 29th with a time of 40.69. The women's team of A'niya Galloway, Bolden, Trinity Kirk and Malaysia Sinegal have a time of 47.09 to sit at 68th.
 
In the 4x400, the team of Clydeterrious Thompson, Scott, Ta'Cardrick Alexander and Jordan Thompson sit 18th with a time of 3:12.83. The women's team of Shani Simon, Camille Lewis, Galloway and Sierra Session sit 77th with a time of 3:52.42.
 
In the field events, Sahnya Lathon is tied for 81st with a height of 5 feet 4.25 inches in the high jump.
 
Kevon Hamilton and Demarion Sowell are ranked in the triple jump. Hamilton sits 20thg with a distance of 48 feet 9 inches. Sowell has a distance of 47 feet 0.75 inches for 49th.
 
A'ja Gore finds herself in 80th in the shot put with a distance of 45 feet 1.5 inches.
 
Logan Lewis is 80th in the discus with a throw of 146 feet 8 inches.
