BATON ROUGE, LA – Southern's track and field teams are set to be in action at the Battle on the Bayou at Bernie Moore Stadium on the campus of LSU on March 25.
Field events are scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. with the women's hammer throw. Running events will kick off at 2 p.m. with the women's 4x100 relay.
The Jaguars and Lady Jaguars are looking to build off the momentum from the Jim Mize Invitational where they finished with 10 event wins.
Sahnya Lathon would capture the triple jump title with a distance of 38 feet 3.25 inches.
Kevon Hamilton would take the men's crown with a distance of 47 feet 10 inches.
The women's and men's 4x100 teams would finish first. The team of
A'niya Galloway,
Trinity Bolden,
Trinity Kirk and
Malaysia Sinegal would finish with a time of 47.09.
DeAnthony Nervis,
Jerun Wagner,
Derick Washington and
Clydeterrious Thompson would have a time of 40.99.
Nicholas Scott and Bolden would continue their dominating performances from the indoor season. Scott would win the 1500 with a time of 4:09.88. Bolden would take the 100m crown with a time of 11.76.
Camille Lewis has been having a tremendous first season on the Bluff. Lewis would take the 400m title with a time of 1:02.29.
Jordan Thompson would take the men's title, giving Southern their third event sweep of the day, with a time of 56.00.
The men's team of
Rushane Miller,
Ta'Cardrick Alexander,
Bryce Campbell and Scott would win the 4x400 with a time of 3:25.74.
