BIRMINGHAM, Ala.- The Southwestern Athletic Conference revealed its 2022 SWAC Women's Soccer Predicted Order of Finish with Grambling State tabbed to finish at the top of the conference standings. The preseason poll was voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
Prairie View A&M was selected to finish second, followed by Alabama A&M (3
rd), Alabama State (4
th), and Jackson State (5
th) to round out the top five preseason poll team selections.
Southern was tabbed to finish in sixth place, while Texas Southern (7
th), Alcorn State (8
th), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (9
th), and Mississippi Valley State (10
th) were selected to finish 6-10 respectively.
Prairie View A&M led the league in first place votes with a total of six. Alabama A&M tallied three first-place votes, while Alcorn State and Southern claimed two first place votes. Alabama State, Jackson State, and Grambling State each collected one first-place vote.
The 2022 SWAC Women's Soccer regular season is set to begin on Thursday, August 18 with several league teams in action. The 2022 SWAC Women's Soccer Tournament will be held Nov. 3-6 on the campus of Prairie View A&M University.
