BATON ROUGE, LA -- Southern University baseball team gets off to a slow start on Tuesday evening falling to the Cardinals 10-1 in front of 538 fans inside Vincent-Beck Stadium on the campus of Lamar University.
The Jaguars picked up one runs off five hits on the day. In the fourth inning
O'Neill Burgos scored his 30th run of the season.
"I know the score shows a lopsided loss but the game was closer. Several young arms went out and competed, had some tough luck late in the game. Offensively we hit some balls hard but right at people, said
Chris Crenshaw, Southern Head Coach."
Perry Kyles picks up his first loss of the season. The Jaguars scoring came from
Burgos with one run.
SU is 18-28, 15-9 SWAC on the season.
