The Jaguars picked up eleven runs off eleven hits on the day. In the second inning the Jags picked up four runs to take a 4-1 leads over the Golden Lions. In the fifth inning Justin Wiley, Tremaine Spears and Hunter Tabb scored off two errors by UAPB to give the Jags a 7-1 lead. In the seventh inning SU picked up two more runs off solid hitting by the Jaguars. In the eight inning O'Neill Burgos picked up the Jaguars final run of the day.  

"Joe Battaglia showed up and dominated the strike zone from his first pitch until he last pitch. We had a couple of big innings offensively that push runs across and we were solid defensively. Hopefully this gets us going creates some momentum going forward, said Chris Crenshaw, Southern Head Coach.  

Joseph Battaglia(1-3) picks up his first win of the season. The Jaguars scoring came from Tabb and Spears with three runs each. Zavier Moore scored two runs. Burgos, Taj Porter and Justin Wiley with one run each.

SU is 4-13 on the season.

Southern will be back in action on Sunday, March 20th for a double-header to close out the Arkansas Pine Bluff series inside Torii Hunter Baseball Complex. First game is slated for 11 AM.
