The Jaguars picked up two runs off seven hits on the day. In the fourth inning Tremaine Spears nailed a two-run homer over the right field wall sending Hunter Tabb across home plate giving the Jaguars their only runs of the day. 

"Joe Battaglia came out and gave us a chance today. He pitched his tail off for us today. Offensively we scattered hits outside of Tremaine Spears homerun but got nothing done with runners in scoring position. We are still learning and figuring ourselves out, said Chris Crenshaw, Southern Head Coach."

Joseph Battaglia picks up his first loss of the season. The Jaguars scoring came from Spears and Tabb with one run each. 

SU is 2-3 on the season.

Southern will be back in action this weekend at Louisiana State University for a series of games between LSU and Towson University on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the Jaguars will play a double-header against LSU and Towson. First pitch for LSU is slated for 1:30 PM and 6:30 PM for Towson. On Sunday, SU will play the final game of the day against LSU at 5 PM.
