The Jaguars picked up eight runs off eight hits on the day. In the first inning
Hunter Tabb. nailed a doubled to left center sending Jovante Dorris and O'Neill Burgos across home plate to give the Jags an early 2-1 lead. In the second inning
Burgos reached seecond base off a Mizzou pitcher error and Quincy Smith II scored for the Jaguars. In the sixth inning Michael Latulas hits a single to left center field sending Tremaine Spears home to give the Jaguars their fourth run of the day. In the seventh inning Spears reaches first base off a pitcher error sending Burgos home to score for the Jags. In the bottom of the eighth inning Smith II hits his first home run of the season to give the Jags sixth run of the game. In the ninth inning Jalon Mack hits a triple to the center field wall sending Burgos across the plate for the third time for the Jags. Michael Latulas hits a line drive straight up the middle of the field to send Mack home for the Jaguars final run of the day.

Chris Crenshaw, Southern Head Coach. I thought offensively we came out with a good game plan and we got away from it in the middle innings. We will be better down the road from the experience we had tonight."
Nyle Banks picks up his first loss of the season. The Jaguars scoring came from
Burgos with three runs, Smith II with two runs. Dorris, Mack and Spears scored one run each.
SU is 2-2 on the season.

Southern will be back in action this weekend at Louisiana State University for a series of games between LSU and Towson University of Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Friday, SU will face Towson University at Noon. On Saturday, the Jaguars will play a double-header against LSU and Towson. First pitch for LSU is slated for 1:30 PM and 6:30 PM for Towson. On Sunday, SU will play the final game of the day against LSU at 5 PM.
