BIRMINGHAM, AL- Jailyn Rogers was named Southwestern Athletic Conference Bowler of the Week on Monday following her outstanding performance over the weekend at the Track Kat Klash.
 
Rogers, last year's freshman of the year, had a breakout showing in one of the toughest tournaments. She finished 12th out of 125 bowlers with a 1,060 total pinfall for five games, giving her a career high 212 average. She was one of only 23 bowlers to average over 200 for the full five game set.
 
On Friday, Rogers led the Lady Jaguars to two ranked wins in the Baker portion of the tournament. Her games of 201, 225, 235, 229 and 170, on Saturday, helped put the Lady Jaguars in 12th place going into bracket play. On Sunday, she returned to her anchor position to lead the team to two more ranked wins and an 11th place finish.

This is the first award for Rogers in the inaugural season of the SWAC awards.
 
Alabama A&M's Rose Ugbinada was named Newcomer of the Week.
 
Bowler
Rogers amassed a total pinfall of 1,060 while averaging 212.00 at Sam Houston's Track Kat Klash. She placed 12th individually as the Lady Jaguars finished 11th overall as a team.
 
Newcomer
Ugbinada contributed a total pinfall of 885 while averaging 177.00 at Sam Houston's Track Kat Klash. She finished 57th individually as the Lady Bulldogs finished 18th overall as a team.
