ARLINGTON, Texas — Southern's season came to a close on Saturday with a 2-0 loss to Texas Southern at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championships, held at the International Training and Research Center.
Â
The Lady Jaguars created opportunities early in the traditional portion of the Mega Match but were unable to capitalize, as costly opens—similar to the previous day—proved decisive in an 813-803 setback.
Darian Mobley paced Southern with a 190, while
Za'Viara Williams added a 183.
Â
Southern responded with its highest Baker set of the weekend, but Texas Southern delivered a strong performance to secure the match. The Tigers rolled to a 1,029-860 victory to clinch the series.
Â
The Lady Jaguars posted solid efforts throughout the set, including games of 183, 190, and 180, but Texas Southern maintained consistency with three games above the 200 mark and a low of 188, ultimately sealing Southern's season.
