LAKE CHARLES, LA. – Southern University Men's and Women's Cross Country team opened up the 2021 season Friday evening at the McNeese Season Opener.
The schools participated in the women's 3-kilometer race with McNeese winning the team title with 15 points followed by Southern with 57 and Texas Southern at 68.
The Lady Jaguars all finished between 11
th and 16
th place. They were led by
Sydney Minor with a time of 12:18.7.
Kashi Roberts finished at 12:33.8 followed by 15:55.9. The final two runners were
Destiny Mitchell, 13:23.7, and
Kennedy Pedro, 13:43.7.
The Jaguars were paced by
Lafayette Collins with a time of 20:03.1. They finished with 50 points.
Nicholas Scott, 21:11.1,
Rushane Miller , 21:38.4,
Renand Jean, 22:30.1, and
Russell Noyd, 25:00.0, were the other runners on the men's side.
