Cross Country to Kick Off 2024 Season at Battle of New Orleans

BATON ROUGE, La. - The Southern University cross country program kicks off its 2024 season Friday night with the team heads down I-10 to Lake Oaks Park for the Battle of New Orleans.

The women's 4k is set to take off at 5:15 p.m., while the men's 5k will follow at 5:45 p.m.

The meet is being co-hosted by Tulane and New Orleans, while Nicholls State, Southeastern Louisiana, Dillard, Loyola (NO), Xavier (LA), Lamar and Southern make up the rest of the field.

The Jaguars have high expectations and are looking to set personal best to kick off the season.

Twelve runners are scheduled to race for both the Southern men and women.
