BATON ROUGE, LA— Southern University Athletic Director
Roman Banks announce the hire of
Brittney Williams as the new Head Softball Coach.

Brittney Williams lead our softball program," Director of Athletics
Roman Banks said in a statement. "Her experience playing and coaching the game at different levels are the foundation of her coaching pedigree. With being local she will help play a key role in recruiting and bringing in the community. I look forward to Southern's Softball's future as it continues its first-class success on the field, in the classroom and in our community."
Prior to joining SU, Williams was the head coach at East Ascension High School for 2 years and before that she coached at Zachary High School for three years and helped the team reach the state tournament two out of the three years she was there.

Roman Banks and his staff for allowing me to be a part of this prestigious and historic university. It is not only a blessing but an honor," said Coach Williams. I am elated about the journey moving forward and the opportunity to lead the softball team to prominence in the SWAC. I am eager to help our student athletes not only on the field and in the classroom, but ultimately helping them transition into society as productive citizens."
Coach Williams a Baton Rouge native is married to Tasmin Williams who is a Homebound Teacher for East Baton Rouge Parish Schools, and they have three children: Marlee, Tia and Tasmin Williams II.
