BATON ROUGE, LA. -- Southern University head baseball coach Chris Crenshaw announced the Jaguars' 2021 schedule Tuesday, a 46-game slate highlighted by premier early-season contests and 13 home games at Lee-Hines Field.

"I feel we have put together a really competitive schedule that will challenge us and we are excited for the chance to compete," said head coach Chris Crenshaw "There has been a lot of uncertainty around college athletics and made our scheduling challenging, as it changed a few times. Our guys are excited for the opportunity to play especially in front of our family and friends."

The Jaguars competitive schedule includes non-conference road games against No. 7-ranked LSU, No. 9-ranked Mississippi State, No. 41-ranked Oklahoma, No. 43-ranked Tulane, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, ULM, Rice, South Alabama and will host Lamar at home.

The Southwestern Athletic Conference schedule runs 24 games over eight weekend series. The Jaguars will play Grambling State, Prairie View, University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Texas Southern at home, and will face Prairie View, Grambling State, Texas Southern on the road.  SU will face University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff in Frisco, TX for a neutral site series. 

SU will open up the season on a seven game road swing as the Jaguars travel to face Oklahoma for a three-game opening weekend series February 19-21. SU will then travel across town for a midweek matchup at Alex Box when they face LSU on February 23. Following the midweek matchup, SU will make the trip to north Louisiana when they visit Louisiana Tech for a three-game series February 26-28.  
    
The Jaguars begin conference play when they host Grambling State March 5-7 for a three-game home series. Then will follow up with a midweek road trip to Tulane on March 9. SU will hit the road for their first conference road swing on Mar. 12-14 when they visit Prairie View. 
 
Following the PVAM series, Southern returns home for a midweek matchup with Lamar on March 16, before they visit Rice for a four-game series starting March 19-21. SU will then travel to South Alabama  for a Wednesday matchup on March 24. 

The Jags will then travel to Frisco, TX  for the Lone Star Diamond Classic on March 26-28 for a conference neutral site three-game series vs University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff at the Dr. Pepper Ball Park. SU will host Texas Southern April 2-4 before a midweek matchup at Mississippi State April 6 before traveling to Grambling State April 9-11 and hosting Prairie View April 16-18. 

Other non-conference games include a midweek Wednesday visit at South Alabama on April 21 before a three-game series at University of Louisiana Monroe on April 23-25. SU will head back across town for another matchup with LSU on May 4. 
 
The last two conference series will both be played at home when SU host University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff April 30 - May 2 and Texas Southern May 7-9. The Jaguars will head to Lafayette Louisiana for a midweek matchup at ULL on May 11 to close out the regular season. 
 
The Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament will be played May 19-23 at Smith Wills Stadium in Jackson, Mississippi.
