Clinton, Miss. –
Nicholas Scott had a career day at the SWAC Cross Country Championships in Clinton, Mississippi Monday morning. Scott finished with a career best 26:59.1 to place 10
th and securing a spot on the All-Conference Team.
The Jaguars participated in the men's 8k while the women ran a 5k. The men's team finished in 5
th, with the women's finished in 8
th.
After Scott, the Jaguars got things going when
Lafayette Collins finished with a time of 27:20.9 for 14
th. Tallen James was the other Jaguar to finish in the top 20 at 19
th with a time of 27:41.3.
Rushane Miller, Alexander Ta'Cardrick, Noyd Russell, and
Renand Jean were the other runners to cross the finish line
Sydney Minor paced the Lady Jaguars with a season best time of 19:47.3 to finish 11
th overall.
Kashi Roberts was the second runner to cross the finish line for SU at 21:45.8.
Destiny Mitchell,
Shani Simon,
Kennedy Pedro, and Chyna Royal finished out the scoring for SU.
Both the men's and women's teams finished season best times for the second straight meet.
UP NEXT
Both teams will get a month to train for the NCAA Regionals in Waco, Texas on November 12.
