Southern University softball yielded three 2-run homeruns and suffered a 14-2 loss to Southeastern Wednesday afternoon at Lady Jaguar Field.
Shabanese Brown led the Jaguars (1-25) with a 3-for-3, two RBI effort which produced the Jaguars only runs on the day. Despite seven hits, Southern left 6 baserunners stranded and committed three errors on the defensive end.
The Lions (14-7) pounded out 16 hits and got 2-run homeruns from Logane Fuselier, Kelsey Nichols and Tori Sheppard. Shortstop Kayla Elswick and catcher Katie Doyle each went 3-for-3 and scored two runs apiece to lead the Lions.
Southern will host NAIA member Houston-Victoria in a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
