The Southern University Women finished seventh and the men ninth in the 2010 SWAC Women's and Men's Cross Country Championships held in Clinton, MS.
Mississippi Valley State won the 2010 SWAC Cross Country Men's Championship with 24 points. Grambling State was second with 59 points and Alabama State was third with 77 points. Southern finished 9th with 224 points.
Grambling State won the 2010 SWAC Women's Cross Country Championship with 51 points. Arkansas-Pine Bluff was second with 54 points and Alabama State was third with 60 points. Southern finished 7th with 189 points.
SU's Melanie Gilbert was the top finishing Lady Jaguar at 16th, while Simon Freeman topped the Jaguar men with a 34th place finish.
Other Lady Jaguar finishers included Mary Newton 21st, Meiah Tellison 54th, Amber Crews 56th, and Shariece Pinkston 71st.
For the men, Cody Collins finished 41st, Benjamin Edmondson 43rd, Joshua Albert 58th, and Robert McCampbell finished 59th.
