The Bluff Is Back: Southern Athletics Welcomes Jaguar Nation for 2026 Fan Fest

BATON ROUGE, La. – The wait is almost over, Jaguar Nation. Southern University Athletics is ready to officially welcome fans back to The Bluff and kick off the 2026 fall athletic season with a full day of Jaguar pride, as the annual Fan Fest returns Saturday, Aug. 15, at the F.G. Clark Activity Center.

The free, family-friendly celebration will give fans their first opportunity to connect with the Jaguars as Southern prepares for another exciting fall season. Doors open at 10:00 a.m., with festivities beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Fans attending Fan Fest will have the opportunity to meet members of the Southern University cheerleading squad, experience a special showcase by the Human Jukebox, and connect with Jaguar student-athletes representing Southern's fall sports.

Fans can also pick up the 2026 fall sports schedules, featuring women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, volleyball and football. Members of the fall sports programs will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs.

Best of all, Fan Fest is free and open to the public. But the celebration doesn't stop there.

Following Fan Fest, Jaguar Nation can continue the celebration with a first look at the 2026 volleyball team as the Jaguars host a Blue and Gold Scrimmage at 2:00 p.m. at the H.W. Moody Intramural Sports Complex.

Immediately following the volleyball scrimmage, fans are encouraged to make their way to A.W. Mumford Stadium for the first look at the 2026 Southern football team. Gates will open at 3:00 p.m. on the west side of A.W. Mumford Stadium near the press box, with the Jaguars taking the field for their Football First Look from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.

The Jaguars officially open the 2026 football season on Saturday, Aug. 29, when Southern travels to Birmingham for the Birmingham Football Classic against Alabama State. Southern will then return to Baton Rouge for its 2026 home opener when the Jaguars host Kentucky State on Saturday, Sept. 5, as part of the annual Pete Richardson Classic.

With the fall season just around the corner, Fan Fest provides the perfect opportunity for Jaguar Nation to get ready for another season of Southern Athletics.

Fans looking to be part of the excitement at A.W. Mumford Stadium can purchase single-game tickets beginning Monday, Aug. 17. Don't wait to secure your seat for the 2026 season.
