GAMEDAY PREVIEW: Southern Women’s Basketball at Bethune-Cookman

Daytona Beach, Fla. — The Southern University women's basketball team hits the road Thursday night to continue SWAC play, taking on Bethune-Cookman at 6 p.m. inside Moore Gymnasium.

Southern looks to build momentum as conference competition intensifies, facing a Bethune-Cookman squad that traditionally plays tough at home. The matchup marks an important early-January test as both teams jockey for positioning in the SWAC standings.

The Jaguars have relied on balanced scoring and defensive pressure throughout the season, emphasizing transition offense and forcing turnovers. Southern's ability to control the tempo and limit second-chance opportunities will be key against a Bethune-Cookman team that thrives on energy and physical play in Daytona Beach.

Bethune-Cookman enters the contest looking to protect its home court, while Southern aims to secure a crucial road win in conference play. Execution, rebounding, and perimeter defense are expected to be deciding factors.

Tip-Off: Thursday, January 8
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Moore Gymnasium (Daytona Beach, Fla.)
