Southern to Honor 1995 Championship Football Team

BATON ROUGE, La. | Southern University Director of Athletics, Roman Banks, announced the University will honor the 1995 championship teams during the Pete Richardson Classic on September 6 as the Jaguars play host to Alabama State.
 
"We are extremely excited to be able to honor and celebrate legendary Coach Pete Richardson and the championship team," Banks said. 
 
The 1995 team, coached by Pete Richardson, went 11-1 overall and 6-1 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), and won the Black College Football National Championship.
 
Southern will honor the teams during pregame ceremony to commemorate their championship season.
