BATON ROUGE, LA – Southern outfielder Cardell Thibodeaux was named the 2024-25 NCAA Division I Statistical Champion for Slugging Percentage following an impressive junior season.
Thibodeaux, a Lafayette, Louisiana native, started all 49 games for the Jaguars at left field. He led the team with 83 hits, 73 runs, 18 home runs, and 71 RBIs while producing the league's best .439 batting average and .847 slugging percentage.
Nationally, Thibodeaux was ranked 1st in Division I and 1st in the Southwestern Athletic Conference in Slugging Percentage (.847). He was also ranked second in the nation in batting average (.439) and sixth in the nation in runs batted in per game (1.45)
