Southern enters SWAC Championships at No. 7 seed, faces No. 2 seed Florida A&M in opener

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | The Southern University baseball team claimed the No. 7 seed in the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Baseball Tournament. The Jaguars will open the tournament versus No. 2 Florida A&M at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21 at historic Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Alabama.

The Jaguars clinched the seventh seed after completing the regular season 23-25 overall with an 15-13 mark in conference play.

FAMU earned the second seed after going 30-23 overall and 24-6 in the SWAC.

Wednesday contest will be the second meeting between Southern and Florida A&M this season. SU won the first match up at the Andre Dawson Classic in February 17-1.

This year's SWAC Baseball Tournament is set to run from May 21-25. Tickets are available for purchase by clicking here.
