Reid Finishes Tenth as Southern Finishes Sixth at SWAC Championship

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. | Southern University men's golf team finished sixth in the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Men's Golf Championship at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley.

Thomas Reid began the day tied for the lead and shot a 9-over-par 81 to record a 227 for the three rounds, finishing in tenth. On the front nine, Reid was 3 over, recording a birdie at No. 2. However, on the front nine, he had six bogeys to fall out of contention for the individual title. With his tenth-place finish, Reid earned All-SWAC Second Team honors.

Jordan Williams who entered the day tied for 20^th, carded a final-round 9-over-par 81 to finish with a 238. In his final round, Williams registered eight bogeys, one birdie and one double bogey in finishing in 25^th.

Isaiah Gold was tied for 25^th rebounded from his second-round performance on Tuesday by shooting 9 over. On the back nine, Gold had two bogeys and two double bogeys to finish for 26^th.

Charles Watts, who finished 30^th, had his best round of the tournament, shooting an 8-over-par 80 to finish with a 248. He registered one double bogey, eight bogeys and two birdies during his third round.

Carter Evans, who entered the day 30^th, fired a final-round 85 and finished 32^nd.

Southern shot a 951 to finish sixth, while Florida A&M held off a charge from Arkansas-Pine Bluff, firing a three-round 880 to win the championship by six strokes. Prairie View A&M captured third with a 910. Alabama A&M shot a 922 for fourth place, Texas Southern (932) and Alabama State (957) rounded out the seven-team field.
