Watts Finishes 7th, Southern Places Fourth at Arcis HBCU Championship

WESTON, Fla. | The Southern University men's golf team opened its second spring campaign over the weekend as the Jaguars finished fourth at the Arcis HBCU Championship at The Club of Weston Hills on Monday.
 
The Jaguars, carded a 779 to claim the fourth spot as Florida A&M won the event with a 759. Alabama State placed second, with a 761. Alabama A&M shot a 770 to finish third and North Carolina Central (781) rounded out the field.
 
Charles Watts shot a 8-over-par 188 to finish seventh as Florida A&M's Phalatphon Viboonviriyasakul and N.C. Central's Mateo Zolezzi was tied for first. Viboonviriyasakul won the individual medalist crown on the first hole of a playoff.
 
Jordan Williams carded a 14-over 194 to finish 11th, while Quincy Leonard was tied for 14th at 196. Nyles Williams placed 20th, with a 201, and Isaiah Gold rounded out the scoring 23rd, with a 209.
