MONTGOMERY, AL --The Jaguars and the Lady Hornets battled back-and-forth in the first half, but the Jaguars came out in the second half determined to get back in the winning column by outscoring Alabama State 27-15 to pick up their eighth conference win of the season. Final from Dunn-Oliver Acadome was 48-33.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- The Jaguars outscored the Lady Hornets 13-9 at the end of the first quarter, 13-9.  
- The Lady Tigers outscored the Jags 9-8 to cut the lead to three-point at the first half, 21-18.
- The Jaguars outscored the Lady Hornets 16-11 in the third quarter to extend their lead to eight-points to close out the third quarter, 37-29. 
- The Jaguars outscored the Lady Hornets three of the four quarters played to close out the game dominating the ASU by fifteen-points to get back into the winning column.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

- Jaguars went 19-of-50 shooting from the field (38.0 percent) and 4-of-16 from 3PT (25.0 percent).
- SU was led by Aniya Gourdine (5-8 FG, 2-4 FT) finished the night with a team-high 12 points, five rebounds and five steals. Tionna Lidge (4-6 FG, 2-2 FT) chipped in 10 points and four blocks.
  Soniyah Reed (2-8 FG, 2-6 3PT) chipped in six points in nineteen minutes of play. Jocelyn Tate (2-5 FG, 1-4 FT), D'Shantae Edwards (2-4 FG, 1-2 FT). Taniya Lawson (2-7 FG, 1-2 3PT), and DaKiyah Sanders (2-6 FG, 1-4 3PT) chipped in five points each. 
- Seven Jaguars played scored in the contest with two finishing the night with double digits.
- ASU shot 13-of-55 from the field (23.6 percent) and 2-of-14 from 3PT (14.3 percent). 
- Southern pulled down 37 rebounds, including 28 on the defensive side of the glass, led by Tate with a team-high eight rebounds. 
- The Lady Hornets registered 38 rebounds, with 23 coming on the defensive end. 
- The Jaguars also went 6-for-12 from the free-throw line. 
- The Lady Hornets sank 5-of-7 from the charity stripe.
- Southern University finished the night with thirteen steals and twelve assists, led by Gourdine with five steals.
- Alabama State University came away with eight steals and seven assists.
