HOUSTON, TX -- Southern gets off top a fast start in the first three quarters but was outscored in the fourth to drop their first conference game of the season to Texas Southern. Final score from H&PE Arena was 51-55.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Jaguars went 20-of-62 shooting from the field (32.3 percent) and 3-of-19 from 3PT 15.3 percent).
- SU was led by Tionna Lidge (7-11 FG, 1-2 FT) finished the day with 15 points, along with four boards, and three steals.
- Aniya Gourdine (3-14 FG, 5-6 FT) chipped in 11 points, five rebounds and four assists.
- Nine Jaguars played scored in the contest with two finishing the night with double digits.
- TSU shot 19-of-43 from the field (44.2 percent) and 5-of-18 from 3PT (27.8 percent). 
- Southern pulled down 31 rebounds, including 18 on the defensive side of the glass.
- The Lady Tigers registered 41 rebounds, with 34 coming on the defensive end. 
- The Jaguars also went 8-for-15 from the free-throw line. 
- The Lady Tigers sank 12-of-15 from the charity stripe.
- Southern University finished the night with thirteen steals and nine assists.
- Texas Southern University came away with two steals and fifteen assists.
