BATON ROUGE, LA -- Southern uses second half surge to lift them over Alabama A&M to take over fourth place in the conference standings. Final score from F. G. Clark Activity Center was 67-60.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jaguars went 25-of-61 shooting from the field (41.0 percent) and 6-of-12 from 3PT (50.0 percent).
- SU was led by Aleighyah Fontenot (5-7 FG, 4-5 3PT) finished the day with 15 points, two assists and five rebounds.
- Taylor Williams (6-13 FG, 2-2 FT) chipped in 14 points, three rebounds and two steals in twenty-seven minutes of play. Genovea Johnson (5-14 FG, 1-2 FT) added eleven points and Raven White (2-4 FG, 6-6 FT) finished the night with ten points for the Jaguars.
- Eight Jaguars played scored in the contest along with four in double-digits.
- AAMU shot 25-of-58 from the field (43.1 percent) and 3-of-12 from 3PT (25.0 percent).
- Southern pulled down 35 rebounds, including 24 on the defensive side of the glass.
- The Lady Bulldogs registered 29 rebounds, with 22 coming on the defensive end.
- The Jaguars also went 11-for-14 from the free-throw line.
- The Lady Bulldogs sank 7-of-11 from the charity stripe.
- Southern University finished the night with seven steals and nine assists.
- Alabama A&M University came away with six steals and fourteen assists.
