BATON ROUGE, LA --  A huge second half helps the Jaguars rout Mississippi Valley by 19-points on Monday night to get back in the winning column inside F.G. Clark Activity Center. Final score was 64-45.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- Jaguars went 23-of-52 shooting from the field (44.3 percent) and 3-of-13 from 3PT (23.3 percent).
- SU was led by Genovea Johnson (4-7 FG, 4-6 FT) finished the day with 12 points, two steals and four rebounds.
- Aniya Gourdine (3-4 FG, 5-6 FT) chipped in 11 points in eighteen minutes of play and Genovea Johnson (3-7 FG, 2-3 3PT) added eight points, four assists and five rebounds. 
- Eleven Jaguars played scored in the contest along with two in double-digits.
- MVSU shot 17-of-51 from the field (33.3 percent) and 2-of-14 from 3PT (14.3 percent). 
- Southern pulled down 38 rebounds, including 28 on the defensive side of the glass.
- The Lady Delta Devils registered 27 rebounds, with 21 coming on the defensive end. 
- The Jaguars also went 15-for-22 from the free-throw line. 
- The Lady Delta Devils sank 9-of-14 from the charity stripe.
- Southern University finished the night with nineteen steals and nineteen assists.
- Mississippi Valley State University came away with seventeen steals and eleven assists.

Southern will back in action on Saturday, February 3rd when the travel HWY 61 North to Lorman, MS to take on the Lady Braves from Alcorn State University. Tipoff is slated for 3 PM live on Alcorn State Sports.
