BATON ROUGE, LA -- The Jaguars got off to a slow start against the Golden Lions from Arkansas Pine Bluff and was never able to recover dropping their second game at home this season. Final score was 69-45.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jaguars went 15-of-41 shooting from the field (36.6 percent) and 3-of-10 from 3PT (30.0 percent).
- SU was led by Chloe Fleming (3-6 FG, 6-6 FT) finished the day with 12 points and two steals.
- Aleighyah Fontenot (3-7 FG, 3-6 3PT) chipped in 11 points in nineteen minutes of play and Genovea Johnson (2-11 FG, 4-6 FT) added eight points and three rebounds.
- Ten Jaguars played scored in the contest along with two in double-digits.
- UAPB shot 22-of-43 from the field (51.2 percent) and 3-of-8 from 3PT (37.5 percent).
- Southern pulled down 22 rebounds, including 14 on the defensive side of the glass.
- The Golden Lions registered 25 rebounds, with 19 coming on the defensive end.
- The Jaguars also went 26-for-33 from the free-throw line.
- The Golden Lions sank 27-of-29 from the charity stripe.
- Southern University finished the night with ten steals and seven assists.
- University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff came away with six steals and fourteen assists.
